Sakhr Software Co. will be the first to present a bilingual (Arabic - English) solution of this kind, one that is based on Natural Language Processing (NLP). This system is capable of monitoring, mining and processing information of various formats in a manner that is both suitable and convenient for research centers, security organizations and e-Governments worldwide, complying with the requirements of national and international security, as well as the efforts to fight terrorism.

This announcement was made to coincide with GITEX 2003, the largest IT exhibition in the region and comes as a direct response to growing demands by organizations, authorities and government administrations worldwide for a comprehensive Arabic Information Monitoring and Management System. These organizations seek an ideal way in which to process and monitor the continuous flow of unstructured information, received in various formats; traditional documents, text, electronic files, video clips, internet websites, email, television or radio stream, and a way in which to direct this information, in addition to handling the information in a manner which complies with the specifics of each organization.

"The new solutions bridges the gap towards fulfilling the realistic requirements of the next phase, in which all nations seek security, stability and an end to terrorism. This solution places effective powerful information gathering and searching tools at the hands of the concerned organizations," commented Fahad Al-Sharekh, Business Development Director, Al Alamiah Group/Sakhr Software. "The new solution guarantees effective results as it contains an advanced search engine which takes into consideration the complex diacritization of the Arabic language, Arabic Information Monitoring and Management Systems, news gathering services that provide one-point access to current news and information, publishing solutions, automated diacritization considered to be the main pathway to Arabic communication/speech technologies and text to speech conversion, in addition to translation solutions," he added.

The new solution is dubbed AIMS, short for Arabic Information Monitoring and Management System. In addition to the translation engine which translates documents to and from both Arabic and English, the new solution includes a system mainly comprised of components which capture incoming information from various sources, in various formats, systems for information analysis, automated categorization, identification of keywords, trend and path recognition within the document and shifts between the usual patterns of captured information.

Some researches and market studies concerning e-Governments have indicated that the complex tasks necessary for monitoring, studying and processing information means that compound, reliable and advanced systems of this kind are in high demand by authorities, organizations and government administrations in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, as well as other countries worldwide.

"When national and international security becomes an obsession, when safety and stability are the main objectives of governments, it is only natural that a need for a solution is born, a solution that has exceptional knowledge management capabilities to process information in both Arabic and English," Al-Sharekh said addressing these needs. "This is the solution that fulfils the demands of research centers as well as national security organizations, while complying with the trend of converting to electronic document management. This solution also fills the larger gap in information management that face many government administrations and organizations, regardless of their specialties," Al-Sharekh added, "It is now possible to own bi-lingual systems capable, as never before, of fulfilling very specific and very important needs."

The company expects an escalation in demand for this solution by ministries, government administrations, research centers, decision making and national security authorities, as well as various organizations which require processing the various formats of information.
