Samsung wants consumers to experience 'digital freedom' at GITEX 2003

Samsung Electronics, the regional and global leader in digital technology, has announced that the theme for its participation at GITEX 2003 will be 'Digital Inspiration.'
"Our goal at this year's edition of GITEX 2003 is to connect consumers' lifestyle, digital technology and stylish designs to offer an heightened entertainment experience at our pavilion," said Mr. D. K. Byeon, President, Samsung Gulf Electronics (SGE).
"Many consumers think of digital technology as an elite experience that is inaccessible to them. Samsung prides itself on developing revolutionary technology that meets everyone's needs, be it personal or business. Leading consumers into the digital age will be our 'Digital Inspiration' theme illustrating how inspiring and accessible digital products really are, and how they have become part of our daily lives, " Mr. Byeon added.
At the Gitex 2003 event, Samsung will be showcasing a host of cutting-edge digital products including the latest range of TFT LCD monitors in size ranging from the present highest size of 24", to 30" and 40"; sleeker and slimmer profile monitors; multifunction and wireless printing solutions; first-of-a-kind camera phones; personal digital assistant (PDA) solutions; world's smallest digital multifunction video recorders and digital-liquid-processing technology based display solutions.
This is in addition to the Samsung Mobile Fun Club booth that will host fun-filled activities including a series of quizzes and competitions, downloading of audio and video clips onto Samsung mobile phones.
"Expanding on the vision of making digital convergence a reality, our 'digital freedom' showcase underpins the company's leadership position and highlight its commitment to bringing the power of digital technology to users with a variety of interests and demands," Mr. Byeon concluded.
BusinessWeek magazine and Interbrand Consultancy's annual survey of the top 100 global brands rank Samsung as the world's 25th largest brand, an improvement on its 34th place in 2002 and 42nd place in 2001. Samsung's brand has registered a 31 per cent growth over last year, more than doubling its value from $5.2 billion in 2001 to $10.8 billion in 2003.
