The demonstration will include the use of state of the art software necessary to establish command and control scenarios and the skills needed to manage these situations.

'Fire and rescue services in the oil and gas industry play a crucial role because of the explosive and inflammable nature of the raw material,' said Anselm Godinho, Managing Director, International Conferences & Exhibitions (IC&E), organizers of the show. 'The skills of the first responders in an accident have, therefore, a direct bearing on the lives of workers in both the offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities. With technologically advanced accident and fire safety devices entering the industry, the skills of the qualified personnel in the rescue teams also need to be constantly updated. We are pleased that OGS will be a platform to showcase the latest technologies and techniques for the rescue and safety teams in the industry. This will add an essential extra dimension to the host of information available to the oil and gas industry professionals visiting the show.'

At OGS, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service Washington Hall International Training Centre will be presenting a case study demonstrating the progressive development of a company's ability to provide world-class fire, rescue and accident response to emergencies on both off and onshore oil and gas facilities. The case study will include inputs from the Lancashire Fire and Rescue and Lancashire Ambulance services.

'The UK fire service and in particular Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service are seen as being at the forefront of new technologies in all aspects of fire and rescue training,' said, Malcolm Knowles, Commercial Manager, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Services. 'We would like to use our presence at the OGS to demonstrate the innovations incorporated in our training methodologies that ensure the creation, in time optimized sessions, of teams of highly skilled rescue personnel.'

Lancashire Fire & Rescue Services have an established presence in the Middle East for a number of years and have already trained a number of fire officers from countries including Iran, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Oman, Qatar and the UAE. The company is currently working with RasGas in Qatar, providing to them an eleven-week basic fire fighting program. The company looks forward to building on these relationships and developing a stronger working partnership with the oil and gas industry throughout the Middle East.

OGS has attracted more than 250 exhibitors from over 30 different countries around the world, with companies from the UK, Turkey, Russia, Malaysia, Italy, Iran, Germany, China and UAE registering a strong presence. The Show will be open to trade visitors from 10.00 AM to 6.00 PM.
