Mindscape awarded ISO9001:2000

Mindscape, the region's leading IT solutions provider, has been awarded the ISO9001:2000 quality certification by the British Standards Institute (BSI) for 'the design, development and implementation of software solutions and services in all domains of Mindscape.'

"In just nine months, Mindscape has demonstrated the most stringent process controls and is well on its way to achieving the coveted CMM Level 5 accreditation whereby the entire organisation is recognised for its focus on continuous improvement," said Fawzi Bawab, Regional Business Development Manager of BSI.

This success is considered by Mindscape as one of the milestones towards achieving its vision of becoming a CMM Level 5 company by 2005. Capability Maturity Model (CMM®) is developed by Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute (SEI). CMM is a guide for systematically implementing development practices that continuously improve software quality. Since its inception in 1984, less than 100 companies worldwide have managed to achieve CMM Level 5 accreditation.

"At Mindscape we are bringing in highest levels of quality assurance to our software development processes. This focus has further enhanced our ability to predict and improve the quality of solutions and services that we offer to our customers" says Mohamed Fouz, CEO of Mindscape.

ISO9001:2000 accreditation means that the management and systems at Mindscape are regarded as being of the highest order. It includes the setting up of a quality management system which identify problems, review incidents and implement actions to prevent them recurring.

Staff development and training are also top of the list to ensure that staff are always up-to-date and maintain an excellent quality of service. To continue to be accredited Mindscape will be reassessed every six months.

"We have implemented a self improving quality management system that is maturing with every passing day. It is all about nurturing a living and breathing quality movement that works upon customer feedback to meet business objectives," explained Zubair Ahmed, quality manager at Mindscape.
