- PRESS RELEASE
Jawhara.me, the first multi-content bilingual portal for females, has clicked with the region's women. In the three weeks since its official launch, visitor numbers have increased by an average of 57% week on week, with half of all visitors coming from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (50.7%) and more than a quarter from the UAE (27.4%).
Figures for the site in February, released by LINKonLINE - one of the largest Arabic online publishing companies in the Middle East and North Africa, and owner and operator of the Jawhara.me portal - reveal that each visitor spends an average of five and a half minutes browsing through its exclusive and diverse content including fashion, finance, careers, technology and travel sections. Health & Beauty, Relationships and Fashion were the three most visited destinations on the website.
Mostafa Kamel, Managing Director of LINKonLINE, says the company is appealing to a market that is grossly untapped in the region, and is confident that this positive trend will continue.
Kamel says, "More than one third of those online in the Arab World are women, yet when were conducting research prior to the launch of Jawhara.me, we found that content specifically aimed at females was very limited. When it came to bilingual Arabic and English content, this was even more marked. Since the launch, we've seen that those aged 25 to 34 are by far and away the highest users of Jawhara.me, accounting for around more than half of all visitors (55%), which reflects this age group's desire for the latest female focused information and content."
Mr Kamel continues, "At LINKonLINE we aim to be at the forefront of the online industry in the region and to create new and relevant content that mirrors evolving trends in society. We have been behind some of the most successful portals in the region including Masrawy.com, Yallakora.com, and Otlob.com and in a matter of weeks the popularity of Jawhara.me is demonstrating that the contemporary woman in the Arab world is clearly looking for the useful, varied content we're creating."
Rasha Abdul Hadi, Gulf Business Development Director for OTVentures, the parent company of LINKonLINE, says Jawhara.me provide a new opportunity for companies to tap into the ever-increasing online female community.
She adds, "We are not like any other portal out there at the moment. We offer bilingual and exclusive content, expert opinions, career and personal finance advice and reviews on the latest gadgets, which are all unique to our audience. This is why I believe we are growing so quickly - the information is current, accessible and relevant to anyone living in the Middle East. Jawhara.me is fast becoming the go-to portal for the discerning Middle Eastern woman."
Abdul Hadi continues, "We wanted to step away from the trend of offering purely celebrity and fashion-driven content to women and with our dedicated team of experts from different specializations, including medical professionals, a lawyer, and even a chemical engineer, we are in a position to offer a unique voice to the website and meet the needs of our diverse audience. Through our forums we also offer a platform for visitors to share questions and concerns, giving a unique insight into the issues most relevant to woman living and working in the Middle East."
Jawhara.me is the first bilingual online portal for the Middle East women offering of exclusive and diverse content and advice on relationships, entertainment, beauty and fashion, parenting and pregnancy, home and art, legal advice, finance, technology and weddings. As well as written content, the site's video gallery includes 'How to Videos' covering subjects like cooking, and hair and make-up, exclusively shot for Jawhara.me.
