Award crowns BMW's sucsess at Abu Dhabi safety and security show

The inscribed award, from Abu Dhabi's General Exhibitions Corporation and Germany's Messe Essen, capped BMW's successful participation in the exhibition, at which the new X5 Security, BMW's first Security Sports Activity Vehicle, made its Middle East debut. "The interest in the X5 Security was very high throughout the four days of the show. Security has taken on a much more important role in people's lives as a result of recent events and we are confident of strong regional sales of this exceptional vehicle," said Robert Zarzour, Regional Manager, Middle East and Africa, BMW Group.

The BMW X5 Security is the marque's first SAV certified to the international B4 armouring level. It is intended specifically for markets where an SAV offers clear advantages, featuring the new xDrive all-wheel-drive system and ample ground clearance.

In addition to the BMW X5 Security, BMW Group exhibited the BMW 745Li High Security at the show. A BMW 330i Security was also at the Exhibition as part of an outdoor demonstration.

"In contrast to production cars retrofitted with armouring, the special features on BMW's Security cars are built by the most highly skilled craftsmen and are integrated in the car right from the beginning. In addition, the vehicles are developed and adapted to the increase in weight to ensure that the highest BMW standards, with regards to handling, performance and reliability, are maintained," said Zarzour.
