BaPDA Chairman presents to Bahrain Chamber of Commerce potential real estate revival through reform of property development laws

The meeting was organized by the Real Estate Sector of the BCCI, headed by Board member Mr. Hassan Ebrahim Kamal.

Speaking on behalf of BaPDA, Chairman Mr. Aref Hejres presented before members from both eminent organizations the urgent need of a more complete understanding and revision of the property laws in view of the developments and changes in the global property and real estate landscape.

In addition to advancing a proactive agenda on behalf of the property developers of Bahrain, BaPDA is prepared to respond to proposed laws, regulations and enactments which will have an impact on the larger canvas of industry and the economy and benefit national interests.

Mr. Aaref Hejres, Chairman of the Board of BaPDA, spoke of the importance of laws that would revive the industry and the emphasis the Association placed on providing greater impetus to the industry, "It is in our common goal to create a legal framework that will bring a renewed energy into the real estate industry. We are fortunate in the wise leadership of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which has adopted a policy of openness firmly based on encouraging inward and outward investment. The Bahrain Property Developers Association, working alongside several Ministries, has tirelessly pushed towards revising property laws and upgrading them to world standards. As a representative organization of Bahrain's property developers it is part of our mandate to provide investors with the most cost effective, efficient and stringent parameters, which will speed up procedures while ensuring ethics and best practices."
