- PRESS RELEASE
Al Foah Funeral Services and Etihad Airways have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to repatriate human and cremated remains worldwide. Al Foah Funeral Services is a division of the Lurista Management Consultancy LLC, which operates the first licensed multi-faith crematorium in the UAE.
Working with Etihad Airways, Al Foah Funeral Services will coordinate every element of the repatriation, from processing complex paperwork through local authorities, to preparing the deceased for transportation by air, to organising the special packaging required for cremated remains. The utmost care and respect will be extended to the deceased and the bereaved. Typically, family members and friends were previously responsible for arranging repatriation of their loved ones on their own, which involved great stress during the time of mourning.
Don Fox, Chief Executive of Al Foah Funeral Services, said, "We are dedicated to providing the highest international standards of service and care to all faiths and communities in the UAE. Our focus is to ensure peace of mind to the bereaved through efficient and dignified handling of all procedures related to funeral arranging. Working with Etihad Airways will help alleviate much of the stress associated with such procedures."
David Kerr, Vice President of Etihad Cargo, said, "Caring about precious cargo and understanding the needs of our clients in often challenging and difficult circumstances is central to how we operate. Our commitment to this repatriation MoU with Al Foah Funeral Services is strong, and we will fulfil our obligations to the very highest standards."
With offices in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi, Al Foah Funeral Services is the only provider of a comprehensive funeral directors service in the country. The provision of a Crematorium and Burial Facility at Al Foah, Al Ain was created as result of a directive by His Highness Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and has been developed under the auspices of Al Ain Municipality.
It is the first cremation facility of its kind in the GCC for non-Muslims and illustrates the inclusive nature of Abu Dhabi and its acceptance of other faiths. The facility includes a large multi-faith worship facility for use at the time of cremation or burial, extensive gardens and additional reception halls. It is conveniently located in Al Foah, Al Ain and is accessible to residents of Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates.
