Notable developments are taking place to bridge the gap in technology between the Gulf region and the world.

Arab Business Machine Ltd. (ABM) Apple's Independent Marketing Company (IMC) for the Middle East has associated itself with Dubai's new training centre, International Training Institute (ITI), by providing it with the latest tools for the new millennium.

ABM's commitment to support and encourage their value added companies is underscored by the agreement to share their floor space at GITEX '03, with ITI. GITEX will provide a valuable platform for ITI to create awareness in its target market about the services & facilities it provides.

Participation in GITEX will add credibility to the company's standards, strengthened by the visible association with Independent Marketing Company (IMC) of Apple for the Middle East region.

Elias Abou-Rustom, Marketing Director Arab Business Machine Limited (ABM) says, 'Our support for ITI is part of our commitment to the region, which will enhance the capabilities of IT users by providing them with the up-to-date technology. This will hopefully reduce the technology gap.'

Abou-Rustom adds, 'We find that ITI meets the latest and most sophisticated training requirements available in the market. Their solutions and visibility plans are comprehensive, with unique standards for the region and match with our vision. We are looking forward to making this project a successful one and for Apple users to maximize their benefit from Apple world standard products. A significant challenge that Apple users would encounter will be the transition from MacOS 9 to MacOS X, which is a UNIX based Operating System. ITI will support us in educating and ensuring a smooth transition for Apple users.'

Jihan Achkar, Managing Director of ITI says, 'Obtaining Apple IMC Middle East's endorsement is a step towards achieving our goal of quality, reliability and credibility that our institution will pass on to the trainees. We have a wide range of training programs: From basic levels for beginners to advanced levels for the computer savvy users. We are the first in the region to provide certificates stamped and approved by Apple. This will provide our trainees with an advantage when pursuing work in their field, as well as widening their horizons and improving their productivity as a result of value added information transfer.'

She adds: 'Our commitment to the highest quality of trainers has led us to partner with European companies with many years of experience in training, thus bringing credibility to the education we provide. We are looking forward to adding more worldwide Training and IT companies to the list of our strategic partners, which we will announce very soon. We hope to establish beneficial relations with leading players in the field, who will also be present at GITEX '03.'
