  • PRESS RELEASE

Ajman Bank announced that it has won 'Best Customer Loyalty Programme' Award in the MENA Region on the much coveted Banker Middle East Product Awards 2012, in recognition to its 'first of its kind' ROADMILES programme.

The Banker Middle East Product Awards were established to recognize, encourage, and reward innovative and exceptional products in the banking sector in the Middle East and North Africa and are widely considered as a benchmark of excellence in the industry.

The accolade was presented to Salem Al Shamsi, Acting Head of Retail Banking, during a special awards ceremony held in Dubai on 27th March.

Mohamed Amiri, the Bank's Acting Chief Executive Officer, commented on the winning, "Ajman Bank has been at the forefront in offering distinctive value to its customers. We aim to become a market leader in the UAE Islamic Banking space with a dynamic customer-centric approach aiming to answer our growing customer base requirements, while providing pioneering products, ongoing rewards, and a gratifying banking experience. Our ROADMILES Credit Card is an authentic translation of this strategy and the award we reaped today reinforces our leading position in the Islamic Finance market and boosts our reputation as an award winning Islamic Bank."

New to the region, ROADMILES is an innovative rewards program that enables customers to collect free fuel points against every dirham spent using their Ajman Bank ROADMILES Credit Card. Accumulated miles can be redeemed for Free Fuel cards from the service provider of their choice at any fuel pump across the UAE.

Salem Al Shamsi, Acting Head of Retail at Ajman Bank, stated: "The demand for Shariah compliant Credit Cards continues to increase. Ajman Banks Credit Cards are based on the Islamic Qard concept being fully Shari'ah compliant. The ROADMILES range gives customers more flexibility in managing their finances in a Shari'ah compliant manner, while rewarding their loyalty in a new and innovative way. With more than two and a half million cars on the UAE roads, the potential and benefit of this rewards programme is enormous."

The 'Customer Loyalty Programme' Award was the latest accolade won by Ajman Bank, following the Islamic Bank's winning of 'Best Syndicated Deal' by Islamic Finance News (IFN), 'Best Branding' by Islamic Banking and Finance, 'Best Home Finance Product 2011' by the Banker Middle East, and "Best Small Bank" at the 2011 Bank Benchmark Index Awards, among others.

In 2011, Ajman Bank launched its Mahra Ladies Banking Division and opened four new branches, namely in Ajman (Masfoot and China Mall), Dubai (Jumeirah), and Al Ain (Al Ain Mall). The Bank is also planning to launch its Affluent Banking services in 2012.

In a challenging financial environment, Ajman Bank maintained earnings momentum recording net profit growth of 75% for the year ended 31 December 2011.
