A senior official of SENAO said the new WLAN solutions have been launched in the backdrop of the brisk demand for the company's wireless solutions in the regional market where SENAO has carved a niche for itself as a quality provider of cost-efficient wireless connectivity solutions.
Mr. Tony Chou, Managing Director of Senora Trading, and a member of the SENAO Group, said: 'We have been experiencing tremendous demand for our products in the regional market where adoption of wireless connectivity solutions is catching up very fast. We are confident that our Outdoor WLAN solutions will be well received considering its cutting-edge features, ease of installation and functional flexibility.'
SENAO's new Outdoor WLAN solutions family consist of three trailblazing products - a point-to-point bridge solution BG2 Plus, a point-to-multipoint bridge-cum-router BG Plus, and a wireless hotspots solution HS Plus.
'Each of these devices provides uninterrupted and completely secure data, audio and video communication at a transfer speed of 11Mbps. Since accessing multimedia content
over the Internet is routine these days, download speed is a crucial benchmark, and we are confident that users would not find our products wanting on this count.'
Chou said that SENAO will also soon launch a high-performance 802.11g standard series of Outdoor WLAN solutions in the regional market which will give a higher data transfer speed of 54 Mbps.
SENAO will also integrate VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) facility with its Outdoor WLAN solutions. 'We are also gearing up to launch C-band wireless devices that will give a higher data transfer rate of 108 Mbps,' Chou added.
The company had recently announced plans to unveil its 802.11g indoor WLAN solutions at the upcoming premier IT exhibition of the Middle East, GITEX, slated to run during October 19-23 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
The new Outdoor bridge solution BG2 Plus as well as the bridge-cum-router BG Plus has a coverage range of 40 kilometres while the hotspots solution HS Plus has a range of 8 kilometres in radius.
Mr Asim Sajwani, Product Manager, Senora Trading LLC said: 'For users the benefits these wireless solutions bring are tremendous. All three devices support Power over Ethernet (PoE) and there is no need to power up the antenna separately since a single cable carries both power and data.'
He said SENAO has come across instances where the bridge solution BG2 Plus has given a coverage range of even 52 kilometres with data and video streaming.
Both BG Plus and HS Plus come with enhanced security supporting the 802.1x standard and have built-in firewall that helps ward off unauthorised access.
Asim said: 'These wireless solutions have been found to be ideal in many situations. For instance, in a residential community, the multipoint router-cum-bridge BG Plus can interconnect 32 buildings. The hotspots solution HS Plus is ideal for shopping malls, airports, hotels etc.'
'Since hotspots are the in-thing these days in the UAE as well as many countries in the region, HS Plus undoubtedly offers a versatile choice,' he added.
The new family of Outdoor WLANs has been targeted at all the Middle East markets including the GCC markets of the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Saudi Arabia. 'In Saudi Arabia the Outdoor WLANs have been found to be ideal to connect oil fields, while in India and Pakistan, major Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have used these solutions to provide special bandwidth for specific customers' according to Asim.
'We also have got response for the Outdoor WLAN solutions from the African market where we have made major inroads. The post-war Iraq is another big market we are targeting since wireless solutions can provide the much-needed communication facility in that country, especially at this point of time with the country not having any terrestrial telecom infrastructure,' he added.
SENAO's new outdoor WLANs have also been in use by the United Nations in Afghanistan to interconnect the barracks of its international security forces stationed in that country. In the absence of terrestrial telecom infrastructure, SENAO used VSATs to download data and spread it among the barracks through outdoor WLANs.
Apart from the new Outdoor WLAN solutions, SENAO had launched three more path breaking wireless devices in the regional market earlier including an Internet Protocol (IP) camera that allows local as well as remote monitoring over the Web round-the-clock.
SENAO's recently launched Wireless PBX targeted at Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait in the GCC, CIS countries, Pakistan and India has also evoked robust response.
