  • PRESS RELEASE

Work-related stress reduces performance and productivity and it is imperative for organisations to build in a culture of resilience in their workforces. Given that people are the most valuable asset of any organisation, the need to prioritise a healthy workplace environment is further magnified and will ultimately enhance the organisation's competitive advantage, said Carole Spiers, CEO, UK-based Carole Spiers Group.

Spiers' comments come ahead of her keynote speech 'Show Stress Who's Boss', at the eighth Training Open Week, the signature bi-annual event organised by Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV), the region's premier destination for human resource management and a member of TECOM Investments' Education Cluster.

Scheduled to be held from 8-11 April, the event will provide HR companies based in DKV a platform to showcase their services to approximately 700 individuals from diverse segments of the community. Hosting 35 workshops that focus on a variety of aspects such as human resources, social media and change management, the event opens up new avenues of advancement for business and workforce.

Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Managing Director, TECOM Investments' Education Cluster, said: "A strong focus on training and professional development is fundamental to the growth of individuals and the institutions that they represent. The bi-annual Training Open Week comes as part of Dubai Knowledge Village's endeavour to consistently enhance the region's talent pool and contribute to strengthening industry skill sets. The event creates a platform for professionals to gain access to the region's leading training and HR development experts and benefit from an array of learning opportunities in one convenient location."

Dave Crane, well-known motivational trainer and host for the event, will deliver a keynote presentation on 'Seven Secrets to Personal Branding Success' focusing on tips, tools and techniques for small business owners to define and create their own personal brand.
Crane said: "In the new economic landscape, it is essential for every business owner to think like Richard Branson, provide a product or service such as Apple and change the game like Facebook. Success leaves clues and one must learn to define their own rules in today's competitive business environment.

"In my presentation at the Dubai Knowledge Village Training Open Week, I will be sharing some tips, tools and techniques for small business owners to define and create their own personal brand. Social media allows everyone to seem bigger and connect with potential clients anywhere in the world, but there is a formula to getting the right pieces of the puzzle together. Your mind-set, business model and your online game makes all the difference. My presentation is a crash course on everything you need to know."

The event will additionally feature workshops by DKV business partners including Genesis Institute, Global Knowledge, The Change Associate, Jamboree, business en motion and Open Thinking FZ-LLC.

Training Open Week invites the participation of individuals looking for a knowledge boost from the business community and the general public including students, housewives and the elderly. Sessions vary from a few hours to a full day. A certification of attendance is granted to all participants at the concluding event.
