AME Info provides news resources for GITEX 2003
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, October 14 - 2003 at 11:23
- PRESS RELEASE
AMEInfo.com, the Middle East's premier on-line business resource, has joined forces with the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organiser of the region's biggest IT showcase, GITEX Dubai 2003, to provide up-to-the-minute IT and business news for the event.
"For the first time, we are providing broadband video powered by AMEinfo's technology on our GITEX.com site, which will provide interviews and customer testimonials through out the event, on to the site and this will be a valuable service for both exhibitors as well as visitors," Mr. bin Fahad observed.
He noted that the DWTC-AME Info deal adds value for the exhibitors and visitors and creates a very powerful communication tool.
Klaus Lovgreen, Chief Executive Officer of AME Info, said: "The organisers of GITEX 2003 see great value in our 'Watchlist' service, which allows registered users to receive news only from organisations they are interested in. This gives them more time to focus on doing business, rather than trawling through masses of irrelevant news."
Lovgreen added that the organisers would also be taking advantage of AME Info's unique broadband content provision. "The Gitex.com web site will feature broadband interviews with exhibitors, trade visitors, and senior trade centre officials," said the CEO.
The DWTC will also be able to utilise AME Info's unique broadband content provision. "The GITEX.com web site will feature broadband interviews with exhibitors, trade visitors, and senior trade centre officials," said Klaus Lovgreen, Chief Executive Officer, AME Info.
AME Info currently receives millions of hits per month, and the GITEX.com site receives five million hits per year. "Together we have created a very powerful platform for communication," bin Fahad added.
AMEInfo.com visitors will also have easy access to a dedicated GITEX news micro-site.
GITEX this year will showcase an entire range of IT related products and services with a significant focus on e-business and e-commerce solutions.
Other products on display include: uninterrupted power supply solutions, desktop publishing, digital imaging and information management, Internet products, mobile computing and WAP technology, networking and business communication, office automation, computer hardware and many others.
While the main exhibition is focused largely on trade professionals, consumers looking to buy computer equipment and electronic gadgetry visit Computer Shopper, this year taking place at Airport Expo Dubai from October 18 - 24.
AME Info more than trebled its number of users and information downloads last year to reach 1.5 million page views per month with 1.3 million users. The site's international profile is now being boosted by a doubling of its global advertising exposure on international news channel, CNN for 2003.
AME Info's audited results show users from Saudi Arabia are the site's most prolific audience accounting for 16% of traffic. United Arab Emirates users are in second place, making up 14% of the audience, and Egypt third with 12%. The majority - 81% of users - are male, with 33% in executive or senior management posts and almost two thirds are aged between 30 and 50.
Award-winning AME Info is the Middle East's leading provider of regional business news, content and analysis. Site content is delivered to Reuters, Dow Jones, FT, AmEx, HSBC, MSN Arabia and Palm Arabic as well as AvantGo.
