The new car parking facilities mark a 350% increase in the number of available slots for those visiting the show.

'With the tremendous growth in popularity of GITEX and the huge increase in the number of visitors attending the event, it was imperative to make arrangements for new parking slots to ease things for the visitors ,' said DWTC General Manager Exhibitions, Leasing and Property, Abdulla T. Qassem. 'Now with the availability of the new covered multi-storey parking and the overflow parking lot across the road from the Trade Centre Tower, an additional 3,514 slots have opened up which will ease the bottlenecks considerably,' Mr. Qassem added.

Visitors now have a range of parking options that include the multi-storey car park, the open car park in front of Halls 1-4 or the overflow car parks behind Hall 8 and opposite the Trade Centre Tower.

Getting to and from the show will be far easier too with the new roads around the complex diverting traffic away from the problem areas and allowing easy entry and exits from all parts of the city. In total 2,014 slots are available in the multi-storey car park, 1,500 in the lot opposite the Trade Centre Tower and 432 behind Hall 8 in addition to the 732 available in front of the exhibition halls.

GITEX Dubai is the region's premier IT exhibition, and this year it is expected to feature the participation of more than 1,600 companies representing more than 37 countries. With a solid mix of local, regional and international IT product and service providers, the exhibition also serves as the key launch pad for new technologies and product launches in the region. Last year's edition of the show, attracted over 65,000 visitors, with far more being expected this year.

GITEX Computer Shopper, the retail arm of the show that takes place at Airport Expo Dubai from 18th to 24th October features super deals on a wide selection of computer hardware, software, peripherals, telecommunication products and multi-media options.
