Mr. Hamad Abdul Rahman Al Midfaa, UAE Minister of Health, Mr. Robert Crone, President and CEO of Harvard Medical, and Abdul Baset Al Janahi CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment also attended the opening.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed said, 'Opening the National Medical Simulation Center for Training and Researches is in line with the overall strategy of the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment that works to support the business initiatives of young UAE nationals. By the directives of H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Minister of Defence, the Establishment supports all projects that are creative and contribute to the economic development and growth of the nation.'
He added, 'We believe that the National Medical Simulation Center for Training and Researches will make valuable contribution to the health sector in the country as it is based on the idea of providing world class standards of training and education for medical personnel in the United Arab Emirates.'
The project is the brainchild of Dr. Adel Abdulla Al Shamry, a distinguished heart and lung surgeon. Dr. Shamry thanked H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid for continued support.
Dr. Adel Al Shamry said, 'The tremendous support that the Establishment provided to the project enabled it to be internationally accredited from renowned medical institutions such as the European Resuscitation Council and the American Academy of Family Physicians.'
He added, 'The Center organised many medical courses in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the General Authority for Healthcare Services in Abu Dhabi, Armed Force Medical Services, Tawam Hospital and Al Ain Medical District that helped train 600 medical and nursing employees from different Government and private hospitals.'
Dr. Shamry said, 'There is no doubt that the comprehensive services the Establishment provides raised our aspirations and we decided to launch a national organization for medical training that is internationally accredited.'
He added, 'NMC will bring into practice a new breed of medical simulators that have been developed as a bridge between the lecture room theory and everyday world of clinical practice. These unique facilities allow health care professionals to simulate the effects of new drugs and treatments in a realistic and interactive environment without exposing the patient to any risk.'
'National Medical Centre will create a world class body which specializes in simulation training in an ultra modern facility, fully equipped with high quality technology, instrumentation and the latest in computer technology required for training physicians, technicians and allied medical personnel.' Said Al Shamri
The National Medical Simulation Center for Training & Researches has been funded by the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment in cooperation with Dubai Islamic Bank.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders was launched on June 12, 2002 as the first initiative of the Dubai Development and Investment Authority. The vision of the Establishment is to nurture the domestic entrepreneurial spirit in Dubai and catalyse the development and growth of a key sector of the economy, the Small and Medium Business sector.
The Establishment's value-added platform includes a dedicated 700 Million UAE Fund to provide access to capital at preferential terms for new entrepreneurs and existing SMEs.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Establishment Board, officially inaugurated today one of the leading projects under the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, the National Medical Simulation Center for Training and Researches.
