The delegation, made up of VIPs from Oman, Syria and Iran, made the tour as part of a 13-day familiarisation trip staged at the invitation of the Korea Middle East Association (KOMEA).

"The overall purpose was to give the Middle Eastern observers in-depth experience of Korean industry and the country's culture," explained M. B. Shin, President, LG Electronics Middle East and Africa.

The group was escorted on their tour by Tae-Gil Kang, Vice President of LG Electronics' Digital Appliance Company's Strategic Planning and Planning Team.

"The group saw first-hand the technology and production techniques of a global appliance industry leader," said Shin. "The delegates also heard how LG is aiming to become the national brand in each country in the region."

The group was particularly taken with LG's advanced home network products, its residential air-conditioners and direct-drive washing machines.

"The group did express its hope that Korean companies will invest advanced technology and capital into the Middle East to further develop winning relationships," said Shin.
