120 per cent bigger Computer Shopper to open doors today

GITEX Computer Shopper 2003, the event that drives retail IT sales in the Middle East, opens its doors at the Airport Expo, Dubai at 11 AM today.
"Both buyers and browsers who are interested in buying or checking out the latest products and trends in the market will enjoy the ultimate shopping experience as the show registers a remarkable growth of 120 per cent in total space sold and a double digit growth of 14 per cent in the number of participating exhibitors," said DWTC Director General Mubarak bin Fahad. "On offer are an overabundance of highly attractive products from well known manufacturers," he said.
The event promises to offer visitors a vast selection of discounted products and innovative configurations. The exhibition is expected to attract even more visitors than the previous years as consumers flock to take advantage of some of the best deals and bargains the industry leaders have to offer, in the Middle East.
Sectors that have recorded significant growth since last years show include gaming, digital imaging and telecommunication technology. Microsoft, Jumbo, Al Futtaim Trading, Emirates Computers, Al Sayegh Bros, BenQ and Jacky's have all increased the size of their participation from last year.
Sony, the world's leading consumer Electronics Company and manufacturer of the premier gaming platform PlayStation will be bringing the "Middle East PlayStation Experience" to Dubai at the GITEX Computer Shopper.
The "Middle East PlayStation Experience" involves a set up of an integrated interactive entertainment arena in the same hall as the GITEX Computer Shopper at Airport Expo.
For the first time in the Middle East, Emirates Computers and Nokia will present the 'Magic of Technology' at the Shopper. An international illusionist will perform six shows per day highlighting all the features of the latest technology. Each show will be made up of well-known DJ's from Radio and MTV, along with colourful dance acts and fantastic illusions. All in all there will be something for everyone at the biggest IT retail extravaganza in the region.
Computer Shopper that runs till 24th October will be open for business from 11 am to 9 pm daily, except on Friday when it will be open from 3 pm to 9 pm.
