The cards, measuring a staggering 108.1 x 70.7cm, are 15% larger than the last attempt made in Spain in 1998. This pack of oversized playing cards will be printed in one day on an HP DesignJet 5500 60 and will feature the tallest hotel in the world, Dubai's Burj Al Arab as one of the faces.

HP will be submitting their attempt to break the world record for the largest pack of playing cards to the Guinness World Records in compliance to their rules and regulations, which includes video footage and photography of the oversized pack compared to a regular one. This appraisal and authentication process with the official body from the Guinness World Records, will take several weeks, as each record attempt is moderated by an objective, accurate measurement and Judge.

"HP enjoys a challenge and it only seemed fit for us to put our products to the test and to prove that our award winning printers are up to the toughest task. We have won many awards throughout the years as the leading imaging and printing provider and are pleased that we are able to showcase our range of diversity and capabilities," said Bernard Meric, Senior Vice President and General Manager, HP Imaging and Printing Group, EMEA. "We have worked really hard to complete this record which shows that with HP everything is possible!"

Once printed, the entire pack will be placed on display at the HP stand in Hall 3 (Stand D3-1) for visitors and vendors to view on the opening day only.
