Samsung unveils world's first Hard Disk Drive (HDD) digital camcorder at Gitex

Samsung Electronics, the regional and global leader in digital technology, will unveil the world's first Hard Disk Drive (HDD) digital camcorder, ITCAM-9 in Gitex at the company's giant pavilion located in Hall 2.

Besides the first-of-a-kind camcorder, Samsung will also showcase its latest state-of-the-art digital products, in line with the company's theme of "Digital Inspiration," which will provide visitors with an exclusive experience of emerging digital convergence technologies in the Middle East.

"The Samsung pavilion at Gitex 2003 will serve as a perfect platform for visitors to experience our diverse range of high-end digital products that have been widely acclaimed at major international trade fairs, including the CeBIT and the IFA events in Germany," said Mr. D. K. Byeon, President, Samsung Gulf Electronics.

The world's first Hard Disk Drive (HDD) digital camcorder, ITCAM-9 is a complete portable digital entertainment device with a myriad of functions. It combines a digital camcorder (MPEG-4), portable video player, MP3 player, portable data storage device and portable digital stereo audio recorder.

Another highlight of the company's showcase is its latest range of TFT-LCD monitors, in size ranging from 24, 30 and 40 inches. The display features sleeker and slimmer profile monitors and includes the ultra slim and portable 152X monitor that has a response time (16ms) twice as fast as standard monitors and is equipped with arm and wall mountable designs.

Furthermore, Samsung is showcasing its cutting-edge digital LCD TVs, digital 3P LCD Projection TVs, printers, digital camcorders, plasma screens and TFT-LCD monitors.

"Complete digital convergence is where the IT industry is heading towards and Samsung is the leader in this sector. Our goal at GITEX 2003 is to connect lifestyle, digital technology and ground breaking design to offer an heightened entertainment experience to visitors to our pavilion," Mr. Byeon concluded.
