- PRESS RELEASE
Computer Associates Middle East (CA-ME) will showcase, at Gitex 2003, its eTrust Security Command Center, a revolutionary solution that brings the entire security management operations to a single, web-based portal.
"One of the major challenges security administrators face today is to handle the overwhelming flood of security messages and events. IT Security incidents on a single day can generate thousands of messages across the enterprise. This 'information overload' makes it nearly impossible to sift out the critical security issues that require immediate attention," said Abdul Karim Riyaz, Director - Security Business Partner Operations, Computer Associates Middle East.
eTrust Security Command Center addresses this problem by aggregating, intelligently correlating and prioritising the vast amount of disparate security data generated by various security devices and products. Its centralised alert and management capability enables organizations to pinpoint and respond to critical security incidents in real-time, applying consistent policies across all systems, platforms and locations.
"Most organisations have a wrong perception that installing more security products in their IT infrastructure translate into better data security. In fact these heterogeneous security technologies can result in more 'noise' and an unmanageable clutter of disorganized data, from which administrators cannot obtain useful information. The truth is that only better management of these diverse security technologies and products translate to better security," Riyaz explained.
eTrust Security Command Center gathers and consolidates critical security data from CA's eTrust solutions as well as various solutions from other security vendors. It will provide superior event management and correlation techniques to provide meaningful insights to the security data generated by the organisation and help to take quick actions for preventing or responding to security incidents, by integrating security management under a common point-of-control.
"CA is known for its leadership in enterprise management and enterprise security solutions. eTrust Security Command Center leverages CA's superior management capability and leading edge security solutions to seamlessly integrate with the diverse security data sources found in today's highly heterogeneous enterprise environments. It also operates with CA's Unicenter and third-party enterprise management systems to provide organizations a comprehensive, centralised security vision," stated Riyaz.
The key benefits of eTrust Security Command Center include improved enterprise security awareness from a true business perspective, reduction in the complexities of security event management and significant increase in efficiency through collection of heterogeneous security data, conversion of this data into useful information, which can be translated into real time knowledge about the enterprise security posture and finally provide ability to take automated actions based on the knowledge obtained.
eTrust Security Command Center will be demonstrated at CA-ME stand in Gitex Dubai 2003 at Hall 6, L6-3. At the meantime, CA-ME security partner eSecurity Gulf will be joining force with CA-ME to demonstrate connecting security technologies at CA-ME stand.
