Equipped with the latest Intel®Xeon™ processor MP based Dell servers, the facility aims at providing the ideal platform for the development of regional business solutions. The Lab has already fulfilled its mission, where it has hosted the production of the Hyperlink BusinessLink© Suite of Oracle applications; a solution designed from the ground up to address the specific needs of emerging and dynamically growing businesses.

The cooperation between Intel, Dell and Hyperlink stemmed from the clear need for a regional software development and demonstration facility to serve small and medium enterprises, which constitute the largest market segment in the Middle East. The Intel Xeon processor MP Server platform was chosen as the computing solution of choice for this sector, opening the door before SME's to access the cutting edge technological solutions that only large organizations would have otherwise been able to afford.

'Intel has stepped up its focus on the SME market in the Middle East because we believe that IT deployment in this sector will continue to expand' said Rod O'Shea, Intel's regional director for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, 'Software development is key to continued growth, and as such we see it as our responsibility to support regional companies like Hyperlink in their efforts to develop applications that are best suited for our users here. This Lab is unique in its ability to showcase live solutions to customers, to help them make informed decisions about the systems that they want to adopt in order to support and grow their business'.

The Intel® Xeon™ processor MP family is designed specifically for mid-tier servers performing key business functions such as collaboration, application serving, enterprise resource planning, and business intelligence. The Intel Xeon processor MP features Hyper-Threading technology, Integrated Three-Level cache architecture and Intel® NetBurst™ micro architecture to provide versatility, performance, value and dependability for today's server platforms.

'The Middle East region has its own distinct needs and requirements in terms of IT solutions, 'said Dr. Walid Moneime, VP Enterprise EMEA 'At Dell, we decided to support the establishment of this Lab because we clearly see that the region has a dynamic SME sector that needs to be serviced with affordable and flexible solutions, which is exactly what the Dell solution is all about. Our cooperation with regional companies such as Hyperlink ensures that we assist them in providing value packed solutions to customers in this vital segment'.

The Hyperlink BusinessLink© Suite of Oracle applications, the first solution to be developed at the SME design center, is intended to help organizations of small to medium scale introduce Oracle's proven enterprise applications in an affordable and easy to implement manner. BusinessLink© is unique in providing fully integrated financial, logistics, CRM and Human Resource management capabilities, that give managers and decision makers on-demand access to critical real-time information, and help them grow their business, and stay ahead of the competition.

'As computerization increases in the SME sector, Hyperlink sees the need for ERP solutions that provide high end e-business solutions at an affordable price' said Dani Diab, Vice President and General Manager, Hyperlink. 'Teaming with global corporations such as Intel and Dell to develop solutions for the expanding SME market, is a strategic step forward that enables Hyperlink to deliver its expertise to the right target audience, at the right time. BusinessLink is one of the solutions that we expect will succeed hugely in the region,' concluded Diab.
