SAHM Technologies, the IT subsidiary of EMAAR Properties is demonstrating e-Home services, an innovative home automation solutions, known as e-Home services, for this year's Gitex visitors.
"Since Emaar homes are built over a world class Internet Protocol (IP) based infrastructure, SAHM can transform a traditional home into a smart one, with speed and relative ease," said Arvind Bhatnagar, CEO of SAHM Technologies.
"SAHM was created for the sole purpose of bringing exciting new ideas from the world of technology to life. What we are showcasing in Gitex 2003 today is a living testament to EMAAR Properties' vision of creating the world's largest intelligent city," added Bhatnagar.
Appropriately equipped electrical appliances can be completely controlled through SAHM's smarter home infrastructure. Lighting, air-conditioning, audio-visual gadgets, home theatre, curtains, security, Local Area Network (LAN) cameras, lawn sprinklers, fountains, pool pumps, saunas, electrical appliances and power distribution can be controlled from a touch screen which can be fitted anywhere in the home and operated with ease, even by children.
"The touch screens can create a fully-automated environment ensuring that smart homes are energy efficient. Smart devices and appliances all over the home can be monitored by a web-enabled control system for remote access, and will be compatible with a variety of devices and applications," added Neeraj B. Bhai, IT Divisional Manager at SAHM Technologies.
The web-based architecture of the system will allow residents to utilize functions such as `virtual parenting' to monitor children at home through a web cam while the parents are away. Other functions such as remotely controlling the home air-conditioning and blinds/curtains control will become a standard feature in the typical e-Home by SAHM.
"SAHM, which celebrated its one year anniversary at Gitex, has brought to our customers the latest technology innovations from around the world at an amazing speed. We are seeking to deploy today, the standards of living tomorrow," concluded Mr. Bhatnagar.
