EMAAR to showcase Dubai Marina at leading International Waterfront Expo

The three-day event, which will be held at the ExCel Conference Centre, Docklands, London, from October 21-23, has been organised in association with Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). It brings together the world's finest developers of waterfront development projects, architects and landscape and urban designers as they present a series of case studies and interactive workshops.

EMAAR will also be playing co-host with RIBA at an evening reception for the Expo's VIPs and top delegates. The event will take place at RIBA's headquarters in Central London on the second day of the exhibition.

Other areas that the conference will focus on include exploring new waterfront design concepts, discussing new development formulae and strategies and identifying new development opportunities around the world. The exhibition will attract construction firms, contractors and engineers as well as tour operators, tourism, hotel and leisure related organisations and representatives of development funding.

With over 50 million square feet, the Dubai Marina is a master-planned 'city within a city'. Offering a unique waterfront lifestyle and community, it comprises luxurious residential apartments, towers, villas and retail outlets created around a 3.5 km water channel.

The man-made Marina is strategically located near Interchange 5 on Sheikh Zayed Road, close to well-known landmarks such as Jumeirah Beach, Dubai Internet City, The American University of Dubai and the Emirates Golf Club.

The first building phase, which is over 2.7 million sq. ft, consists of 1026 apartments in six high-rise towers and 64 luxury villas built on a two-storey car park podium structure. The first three towers were handed over on September 27, 2003.
