- PRESS RELEASE
In a strategic regional expansion, the Taiwan Fortune 100 company and a leading player in the regional and global wireless connectivity solutions market, SENAO, today announced its foray into Iraq with cutting-edge wireless connectivity solutions that has won wide acceptance in the Middle East markets.
Making the announcement at the ongoing Middle East's premier IT exhibition, GITEX 2003 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), Mr. Tony Chou, Managing Director of Senora Trading, and a member of the SENAO Group, said: "Iraq is a big and evolving market and we are confident that in the coming days SENAO's wireless connectivity solutions will be a preferred brand in Iraq."
"The demand for wireless solutions is on a sharp upswing in Iraq in the backdrop of a weak or virtually non-existent terrestrial telecommunication infrastructure," Chou said.
"Over the last few months we have been experiencing a surge in demand in Iraq for HS Plus - our versatile wireless hotspot solution, each of which can interconnect computers within a radius of eight kilomtres," he added.
HS Plus with its enhanced coverage also acts as a wireless ISP service in places where telecommunication infrastructure is underdeveloped. It also comes with enhanced security supporting 802.1x standard and has built-in firewall to ward off unauthorized access. HS Plus also supports Power over Ethernet (PoE).
Mr Asim Sajwani, Product Manager, Senora Trading LLC said: "HS Plus is part of a family of our trailblazing Outdoor WLAN solutions we have rolled out into the Middle East. We believe that HS Plus is the ideal kind of wireless device for the Middle East market where an increasing number of hotels, malls and other public places are coming up with hotspots facilities."
In Baghdad and Mosul, where HS Plus is being increasingly deployed now, data is downloaded with the help of VSATs (Very Small Aperture Terminals), and fanned across the community of Internet users through HS Plus.
SENAO had also successfully installed its Outdoor WLANs earlier in Afghanistan to interconnect the military barracks of the international security forces under the United Nations stationed in that country.
"HS Plus comes into the Middle East market at the right time when adoption of wireless connectivity solutions is on the rise. We are confident that hotspots are going to be a common sight in most of the regional markets, and for SENAO this is an assured market for HS Plus," Asim said.
He said that SENAO has successfully established itself as a cost-efficient and tech-savvy wireless connectivity solutions provider in the regional market. "Our products like the IP (Internet Protocol) Camera, Wireless PABX, and the indoor WLANs based on the IEE 802.11g architecture have proven its unique qualities in the regional market," Asim said.
SENAO 802.11g indoor WLANs
The new 802.11g standard WLAN range offers exceptional speed in data transfer at a rate of 54 Mbps compared to the 11 Mbps for 802.11b standard. SENAO's WLAN product range supporting 802.11g standard in the first phase will include PCMCIA cards for wireless-enabled laptops, PCI cards for desktops, Wireless Access Points and Routers.
Two of the 802.11g solutions - SL-3054SR1 Aries High Speed Wireless Broadband Router and SL-3054CB Aries High Speed Wireless Cardbus Adapter - are on display at GITEX 2003. SENAO is also gearing up to roll out a turbo range of all its 11g range of solutions that will give a data transfer speed of 108 Mbps.
SENAO IP Camera
SENAO's Wireless Internet Camera SL-200 W is a first-of-its-kind product in the regional market and comes with a host of trailblazing features like the ability to communicate with hotspots, event trigger alarm and time-dependent e-mail alerts.
The IP Camera allows remote and local monitoring of precise locations over the Internet. Installing SL-200 W does not need any additional hardware and can be used anywhere where there is a network connection, be it DSL, cable or dial-up. Once the IP camera is installed in an environment, it can be accessed from anywhere anytime in the world over the Web. All that one need is to type out the IP address assigned to the camera into the browser for live full motion video monitoring.

The SENAO digital wireless PABX solutions in the region will only be distributed and sold in the GCC countries of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait; as also in the CIS region, Pakistan and India.
The devices come with advanced unprecedented technological features like (Short Message Service) SMS-enabled communication facility and DISA (Direct Inward Station Access), that will enable callers to ring straight through to an extension, and Voicemail support.
All the models support DECT standard that allows high transmission quality using digital techniques, interrupt-free handovers and adequate security against eavesdropping with data encryption.
SENAO Outdoor WLANs
SENAO's new Outdoor WLAN solutions family consist of three products - a point-to-point bridge solution BG2 Plus, a point-to-multipoint bridge-cum-router BG Plus, and a wireless hotspots solution HS Plus.
