DIC delivers hosted messaging on Microsoft technologies
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, October 20 - 2003 at 12:40
- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Internet City (DIC) yesterday launched its Hosted Messaging and Collaboration (HMC) service at Gitex 2003.
Dr. Omar Bin Sulaiman, CEO of DIC, explained: "DIC is focused on delivering solutions and services that help the business community in Dubai make the best use of innovative technologies. Because the small to medium sector often has limited resources compared to large organizations, we have deployed Microsoft's technologies to create a superior HMC solution that will help this sector focus on its core businesses and make better use of its resources."
The HMC solution enables businesses to leverage an easy-to-integrate and reliable system for their communications with customers and suppliers. Built on a scalable architecture that relies on proven technologies and products such as Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Internet Security, Acceleration Server and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, the HMC solution provides a reliable platform for DIC to build and deliver cost-effective and flexible messaging solutions. Customers can then save costs and resources by outsourcing the management and administration of day-to-day infrastructure applications to DIC.
The HMC platform utilizes the full suite of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 messaging and collaboration features, including full email capabilities, real-time access to email through mobile devices, shared contact lists, collaborative to-do lists, and support for Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server as well as virtual private networks. The solution can also be used to provide the infrastructure for the hosted messaging of carrier devices through mobile email solutions.
"With the launch of the HMC service, DIC has again proven its superior customer insight and speed to market to fulfill the needs of businesses in the UAE," concluded Abdullatif Almulla, General Manager of Microsoft South Gulf. "We are indeed proud to be technology partners on this unique DIC project."
