Dignitaries, business leaders, clients, professionals and international visitors were among more than 250 people who attended the event, hosted by Vinson & Elkins' Managing Partner Joseph C. Dilg.

"The Dubai office is our first in this strategic region and gives us a vital presence on the ground to serve our clients' growing activities in the Middle East and Gulf. We are delighted to have welcomed so many clients, friends and colleagues to this reception here at Burj Al Arab, which itself represents this region's vast potential," said Dilg, who travelled from Houston, Texas, to attend.

"We have been active in this region for years and are proud to now have an office in Dubai, the region's leading business, services and tourism hub," Dilg added.

The celebration coincided with the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) International Conference in Dubai, which is attended by many regional government ministers and officials, international energy executives and industry experts. Among the conference presenters is Vinson & Elkins Partner James Loftis, who will speak on the legal and financial implications of post-conflict reconstruction in Iraq.

Vinson & Elkins' new office is located in the Emirates Towers on Sheikh Zayed Road, one of Dubai's principal business districts.
