- United Arab Emirates: Monday, October 20 - 2003 at 14:06
- PRESS RELEASE
The Knowledge Management (KM) Summit that is scheduled for Thursday 23rd of October at The Fairmont Dubai Hotel, is the first of its kind in the Middle East (ME) to focus on creating awareness of KM, its applications and relation to the Knowledge Economy.
The KM Summit is organised by TeknowledgyOne, a company specialising in consultancy, training, and certification in the IT/management discipline in cooperation with the Dubai Internet City and Knowledge Village. TeknowledgyOne recognises that in order to compete effectively in today's business environment, organisations must be able to manage their human capital and associated expertise and as such need to take greater steps to give KM adequate recognition. As such the company is franchised to offer the only Knowledge Management Certification Board (KMCB) accredited training and certification program in the ME region.
"The participation within the DIC Community Zone at GITEX and the expected significant interest from visitors in both our company and Knowledge Management in general, makes us immensely optimistic with the outcome of the Summit," said Khattab Salman, CEO of TeknowledgyOne. "The summit should be an optimal event due to the speakers' stature and a well received topic, and in fact we are now looking into producing the event on an annual basis," he added.
The Summit features gurus and authoritative figures on Knowledge Management and e-learning. Speakers included Karl. M. Wiig, Chairman & Chief Executive of Knowledge Research Institute Inc., Ron Young, Founder, Chief Executive & Chief Knowledge Officer of Knowledge Associates Ltd. , Ross Dawson of Advanced Human Technologies, Pat Mooney from Financial Services Training College, and others from Oracle, Autonomy, and Emirates Computers.
The DIC Community Zone is located in the new Sheikh Rashid Hall at the Dubai World Trade Centre's (DWTC's) Dubai International Exhibition Centre and will be open from 10am until 7pm during GITEX Dubai 2003.
