The first section promotes the e-services provided by the Municipality and the second section gives information about Explore Dubai, which helps find out online any facility in the Emirate of Dubai.
Mahmood Abdullah Al Qatan, an official of the Information Technology Department who was promoting the Municipality e-Services to the visitors at the stall said it has been receiving very good response from the visitors.
He said people were asking about the details regarding the e-services of Dubai Municipality and the methods of accessing them. 'Some of them wanted to know whether all the services are paid or are there any free services,' said Al Qatan.
He said the visitors were distributed brochures, CDs and other publications regarding the e-services of the civic body.
The section for Explore Dubai was also getting good response from visitors as far as from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Iran, who wanted to know the methods of accessing Explore Dubai. They were asking about the methods to locate facilities such as mosques or public utilities.
It is to be recalled that Dubai Municipality's e-Government project has achieved great success fulfilling its strategic objectives and priorities such as reducing time taken to deliver various civic services, improving internal processes where possible, providing tangible savings for the customer and for the municipality, introducing the latest technology, and increasing customer satisfaction.
Since the launch of Dubai Municipality's portal in October 2001, a total of 56 services have been made online. Apart from these, a Directory of Services on the portal provides information about more than 260 services of the municipality.
The launch of these e-Services has made the civic procedures easier for the public as the statistics proves. So far, more than 200,000 online transactions have been carried out on the portal.
