Emirates Scientific Club exhibits at DIC Community Zone

The Emirates Scientific Club, part of The Cultural & Scientific Association, is currently exhibiting within the DIC Community Zone at GITEX Dubai 2003.

The Club aims to combine and unite the efforts of cultural and intellectual establishments within the U.A.E and is using its stand to publicise the many activities and programmes it offers.

Founded in 1990, The Emirates Scientific Club hopes to encourage and patronize sciences' amateurs and talents and offers a wide range of activities including electronics, computing, photography, astronomy, agriculture, aviation, carpentry, electricity and calligraphy. The Club is a well established member of numerous scientific communities such as the International Federation of Inventors' Association, Mouvement International pour le Loisir Scientifique et Technique, Arab Union of Scientific Clubs for youth and the Intellectual Property Organization.

Mr. Bilal Al-Budoor, Chairman of the Arabic Language Protecting Association, and the General Secretary of the Emirates Scientific Club expressed his enthusiasm about participating in this years GITEX Dubai, 'At the DIC Community Zone we are being exposed to a extraordinary number of visitors. Lots of attendees are expressing an interest to learn more about us and I am optimistic of the benefit our partaking at GITEX will have on the Club in the long term'. He went on to add, 'Our position within the DIC Community Zone also presents us with what is a wonderful opportunity for us to learn about the cutting-edge technology being displayed at nearby stands'.

The club participates frequently in the Science Expo - most recently at Moscow 2003 - and also organized the First Arab Scientific Clubs' Convention 2000 in Dubai. On a day-to-day basis supervision and assistance is available to those interested in science and inventions or handcrafts, and specific youth courses are regularly organised and supervised.

The DIC Community Zone is located in the new Sheikh Rashid Hall at the Dubai World Trade Centre's (DWTC's) Dubai International Exhibition Centre and will be open from 10am until 7pm during GITEX Dubai 2003.
