Businesses are already producing billions of color impressions a year; a trend Lexmark saw coming. That demand will only grow, with an estimated 63 billion color impressions expected to be printed annually - a 30 percent increase - by 2005.
The Lexmark X912e MFP helps feed businesses' growing demand for color and delivers a versatile, affordable and reliable color MFP. Unlike other color MFPs, the Lexmark X912e features e-Task, a simple to use touch screen that can be customized to access document workflow tasks unique to a specific customer or industry.
In addition to the Lexmark X912e colour MFP, the company also announced the 5500 MFP Option. The Lexmark 5500 MFP Option gives businesses an affordable path to add scanning, copying and faxing capabilities to already installed printers.
'Businesses are pushing the use of colour printing to capture the attention of their customers and create a competitive edge,' said Bahrain based Robert Kikano, Managing Director of Lexmark M.E. Distribution & Marketing E.C. who are exhibiting the product at their GITEX stand. 'Lexmark is keenly aware of our customers' needs to produce large volumes of colour prints and copy jobs on devices that are affordable and simple to use.'
Powererful and affordable
The Lexmark X912e builds upon the highly acclaimed C912 colour printer, known for its near-photo quality output, productivity and high-end features at an affordable price. The Lexmark X912e consolidates high-performance printing, copying, faxing and scanning capabilities into a single space-saving unit.
The Lexmark X912e produces up to 29 pages per minute (ppm) in both print or copy mode, has a 33.6 Kbps fax and comes standard with a 50-sheet automatic document feeder with single-pass duplex scanning. The Lexmark X912e's wide-format capability enables the device to print, copy and scan A3 documents. And with optional high-capacity input trays, the Lexmark X912e is perfect for enterprises where oversized documents such as maps, drawings, colour proofs or large banners or labels are used.
A custom user interface and advanced workflow solutions
The real power of the X912e lies within the unique Lexmark e-Task interface. The e-Task interface can be tailored to customer's needs and business requirements specific to their industry. For example, healthcare providers in a workgroup, who use the Lexmark X912e, can manage their document processes - medical card or proof-of-insurance scanning and electronic distribution of medical records or physician orders - through an easy-to-use, intuitive touch screen complete with icons specific to the medical community.
The Lexmark e-Task interface harnesses the power of Lexmark's newly enhanced Lexmark Document Distributor Suite of offerings, enabling the Lexmark X912e to boost worker productivity with electronic document-routing capabilities that make traditionally paper-based processes significantly more efficient.
Flexible and easy to use - the 5500 MFP Option
The Lexmark 5500 MFP Option is a wide-format, full-colour scanner that can be used to upgrade Lexmark C912 and C910 printers to full MFP functionality. Bringing copy, scan and fax capabilities to these printers allows customers to leverage their current printer investment. And the Lexmark 5500 MFP Option features the Lexmark e-Task interface, bringing simplicity and industry-specific tailored solutions to enterprise customers.
'Each one of our customers is unique,' Kikano added. 'And the flow of business information within their environments is unique. Lexmark is focused on tackling the complexity of our customers' specific document workflow processes and providing high-value solutions that streamline their everyday business operations.'
Both the Lexmark X912e and the 5500 MPF option are available immediately.
