Sony Business Middle East and Africa (MEA), the market leader in broadcast solutions in the Middle East, will be showcasing their latest fully integrated professional digital A/V solutions at the 'technology bar' zone located on the Sony Business stand in Gitex Hall 3. Visitors to the 'technology bar' will get the opportunity to experience first hand, Sony's complete set of Broadcast Solutions including their DVCAM camcorders, VTR line-up and the much talked about Edit Master series. Sony Business's new Video Archiving hardware and software solutions will be also making their debut at the 'technology bar'.

Sony Business latest integrated AV/IT solutions are designed to provide users with a definite advantage in today's ever changing commercial business environments. The integrated solutions that are to be showcased and demonstrated at the 'technology' bar' include:

Studio in a Bag - a full digital studio in one easy to carry bag with a DVCAM Camcorder, fully integrated NLE VAIO and accessories allowing field acquisition and editing. The bag weighs less than 7 Kgs and is ideal for journalists, special events

Videographers, education, military, construction and medical applications. 'Sony Business solutions are unique in these sectors by offering customers here in the
Middle East comprehensive and vital support services locally, including advice, design, consultation and implementation as well as full maintenance support service,' said Thompson.

Disk Based recording
Sony Business will demonstrate its latest disk based recording solution offering for both portable in the field usage and also studio applications. The DSR-DU1 is a portable DVCAM disc recorder, allowing camcorders to record on disc instead of tape, achieving random access to clips and x2 real-time ingest into NLE. It also has time lapse capability, and allows buffer recording, so no vital action is missed at the beginning of recording. The DSR-DR1000P, a studio DVCAM disc recorder will also be on the stand and will be linked to a Slow Motion Controller and live camera feed demonstrating to visitors to the stand the capability to record and cover live sport events.

Media Archive Solutions
Sony Business media archiving and distribution solutions are to make their debut at Gitex 2003. These systems have been developed by Sony Business to overcome the increasing problem faced by different institutions and companies to archive, store, manage and most importantly distribute material over IP networks and enable maximum protection and usage of very important media material. According to Thompson, Sony's archiving solutions are ideal for any institution which has the requirement to store and share videos, or information electronically on a network - examples being production houses, broadcasters, videographers, media and advertising companies, libraries, schools, police, military and universities, etc.
