The agreement between Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Redington Gulf covers the Professional and Consumer ranges of FSC products, such as PDAs, the Lifebook laptops, Scenic PCs and Intel Primergy Servers.
'Over the past few months, Fujitsu Siemens Computers has been notching up new gains across Africa, indicating excellent growth prospects, compared to other regions that have been either experiencing a slowdown or showing signs of stagnation. In less than two years of operations in Africa, Fujitsu Siemens finds itself on the fast growth track and we are gearing ourselves to effectively tap the huge potential that exists in this developing market,' said Roger Holbrook, Fujitsu Siemens Computers Africa Sales Director.
'As Fujitsu Siemens Computers' key strategy is to grow by building strong bonds with its distributors, the appointment of Redington Gulf is of strategic importance to us. FSC and Redington will pool their resources to develop the market and meet the challenges of education, training, support and service. We are delighted to be working with Redington and its wide network of resellers and are confident of making further gains in this market,' Holbrook added. 'The stability in Nigeria has greatly contributed to the growth of the IT sector in the country and both Redington and Fujitsu Siemens Computers see this as an ideal opportunity to develop into one of Africa's most dynamic and expanding market.'
'We will leverage Redington's strengths and market base to boost our 'Value for You' end-user marketing campaign, which is an ongoing programme that offers the latest breed of technology products at competitive prices. FSC will work with its distributors to generate greater demand for these products in the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) segment, with the objective of motivating resellers to promote these products to end customers,' said Holbrook.
Redington is a major distributor for prestigious global brands across Middle East and Africa and as part of their on-going expansion have opened an office and warehouse in Lagos, Nigeria. It supplies products and services through a network of 6,000 reseller outlets. Redington's operations cover 33 countries in the Middle East and Africa.
'Redington Gulf is pleased to enter into a partnership with Fujitsu Siemens Computers to market its reputed range of IT products because they carry a stamp of quality that is recognised internationally,' said Sumant Saran, General Manager, Redington Africa. 'This region is on the threshold of an IT boom and Redington is proud to play a major role in it, by bringing world-class IT products and solutions to this market. We are positive that the cutting edge technology used in FSC products and our extensive reach in the region will be a successful combination to bring some of the world's best IT products to customers.'
