- PRESS RELEASE
Representatives from UAE Jeep dealers Trading Enterprises, a member of the Al Futtaim Group of Companies, and Al Jallaf Trading, celebrated the official 60th anniversary of the Jeep brand during a recent two-day Middle East Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep distributors sales and marketing strategy meeting in Cyprus.
In Cyprus were representatives from Chrysler Group dealerships in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria and the host country.
The legendary Jeep began its journey in July 1941, when Willys-Overland of Toledo, Ohio, landed a contract with the U.S. Army to produce the Willys MB during World War II.
Almost nine million vehicles carrying the famous Jeep badge have been built and sold in over 100 countries including the Middle East where over 50,000 have found owners since 1991.
"Over the past six decades, Jeep has become well-known as a vehicle that confronts a challenge, resolves it, then drives away to face another day," said A.J. Perez, Field Sales Manager for the Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep in the Middle East. "Today, Jeep continues to enable ordinary people to overcome extraordinary obstacles."
