Al Ain residents offered passport collection and delivery service through Empost
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, October 25 - 2003 at 14:47
- PRESS RELEASE
The Al Ain Naturalisation and Residency Department today signed a key agreement with UAE's national courier company, Empost, which will see the introduction of a new passport and document collection and delivery service, Empost Ameel, aimed at Al Ain residents.
"The Ameel Service by Empost will be of great benefit to residents of our city. They now do not have to travel to and spend time at the Al Ain Naturalisation and Residency Department to process any documents. Empost will do that for them at a nominal charge and hand them over to the applicants," said Brigadier General Al Khili.
"We welcome the cooperation with Empost. Together, we shall both serve our community and take our service to the doorstep of our people," Brigadier General Al Khili added.
"Empost is the UAE's own courier company. As a national company, it has been our driving focus to develop products and services for the benefit of our customers and the country. It is because of this high regard for the people we serve that we have named the new service 'Ameel' which in English means 'client'," said Empost General Manager Essa Al Daboos.
Adding value
"At Empost, we share a common objective with Al Ain Naturalisation and Residency Department. It is a perfect matching of both our desires to add more value to the service we provide to our clients, so that it can save time and effort for our users," Al Daboos added.
He said the new service will be launched on an experimental basis during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Initially, Empost employees at its two conveniently located Al Ain City offices will receive passports and documents from applicants. These will be submitted at Al Ain Naturalisation and Residency Department during official working hours. Empost will also have a night shift, which gives applicants the opportunity to submit their applications during nighttime. Empost will then apply for it the next morning.
Customer convenience
"The whole idea is to make Ameel as convenient as is possible. Some people are busy during official working hours. To cater to them, we took a decision to collect documents at night too. It adds to our workload and costs, but that it nothing compared to what we at Empost gain by knowing that we are providing an efficient service that is tailored to meet the convenience of Ameel, our customers," Al Daboos pointed out.
With the new service, applicants do not need to apply in person. Empost will take the responsibility of receiving all documents, proof-reading them to make sure all data entries are correct. It will then apply on behalf of the client at the Al Ain Naturalisation and Residency Department, paying all fees due.
All-UAE delivery
When the documents are ready, Empost will deliver them to anywhere in Al Ain or throughout the UAE. "Empost employees will sort out the transactions on a daily basis and deliver them to the people or companies mentioned on the sticker. The new service will cover the entire country, including remote and border areas," Al Daboos stressed.
The new Ameel stickers will be available at all Empost offices and stores, typing centres, petrol stations. The sticker consists of two parts: the first, to be stuck on the passport and the documents, will contain full details about the applicant such as his/her residential address and telephone numbers. The other part, to be retained by the applicant, has to be shown to Empost staff on delivery to claim the passport and any other documents.
Additional service
In addition to the Ameel Service, Empost Jawaz will be offered as an optional service to applicants. Jawaz covers the delivery of passports submitted by applicants to the Al Ain Naturalisation and Residency Department for Residence Visas of family members sponsored by them or as a service for small companies.
