Dubai 2003 Organising Committee holds Review Meeting

The Organising Committee of Dubai 2003, in charge of ensuring the dedication of resources and over all success of the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, met to review the developments and progress since the successful end of the meetings.

Qassim Sultan, Director-General, Dubai Municipality and Head of the Dubai 2003 Organising Committee, said, "The meetings were a resounding success, and we succeeded in attracting global interest into the UAE and the region. It has generated good media coverage, and enhanced our image internationally."

"This success will push us onto more efforts to serve our country and to fulfill our assigned jobs and tasks. This event has shown us that we can involve all communities in their different capacities to serve a common cause. I congratulate each of the committee members personally on a job well done", he added.

During the meeting, the committee presented reports on the results achieved. The Organising Committee will keep working for another month. The machinery to follow-up on issues is already in progress and the committee members have been urged to speed up their delivery of the final results and administrative reports. The next meeting will be held at the end of the week, to pursue issues and tasks assigned.
