- United Arab Emirates: Monday, October 27 - 2003 at 12:18
- PRESS RELEASE
Jaguar, the prestigious brand manufactured and engineered in the UK, has announced its highest-ever monthly sales with a total of 15,613 cars sold worldwide in September compared to 12,429 last year.
The biggest international markets were North America with a total of 6,316 cars sold, followed by UK with 6,316, Europe 1,796, Overseas markets 1,312.
The first nine months of 2003 have witnessed a 20% increase in sales in the Middle East over the same period last year. Each of Jaguar's 11 Middle East markets witnessed growth. The biggest markets in terms of number of cars sold were Kuwait, followed closely by the UAE then KSA and Lebanon. Each of the other markets witnessed significant growth with Jordan being the fastest growing market.
Andy Gawthorpe, Managing Director of Jaguar and Land Rover Middle East & North Africa, said: "This remarkable growth reflects that more and more customers are enjoying the Jaguar brand which has rightfully acclaimed its position as one of the most desirable due to its rich heritage and the current product line-up, which is the best it has ever been. We have a wide range of models that appeal to the diversified discerning taste, needs and demands of our customers."
These record sales were fuelled by the great model line-up that includes the recently launched XJ flagship model - the seventh generation of the car that has been engineered with the most advanced technologies ever used by Jaguar. The body structure is made of aluminum, resulting in the car being 40% lighter and 60% stiffer which enables the driver to enjoy a wide range of benefits that include improved performance, fuel economy, less emissions, safety, vehicle dynamics and handling. The new XJ is about style, luxury, performance, comfort, engineering and beautiful craftsmanship that is synonymous with all Jaguar models.
The Jaguar range consists of four distinct models: Jaguar X-Type, S-Type, XK coupe and the XJ flagship. Each model has its own styling, personality and presence. Beneath the graceful stylish bodywork lies fine engineering offering exceptional levels of power with luxurious and comfortable interiors to ensure that when you own and drive a Jaguar, you enter a new world.
