A ten-year long service award was presented to Bob Farrow, general manager of Hertz UAE, during the recent Hertz Middle East annual franchisee meeting in Cairo.

The annual meeting, staged at the Gezirah Sheraton in Cairo, consisted of a series of lively business sessions and workshops designed to reinforce the relationship between Hertz and its Middle East franchisees and simplify working processes, policies and procedures.

"The discussions were extremely constructive," said Richard Hillman, Director, Franchise Operations, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. "We identified a number of key areas in which we can work more closely together towards the overall goals of further enhancing the already very high quality of Hertz car rental services across the Middle East, and increasing our market share in the region."

Hertz is also represented in the Middle East by franchise operations in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Yemen, and by general sales agents in Saudi and Bahrain.

Over the past decade, Hertz UAE has developed into one of the country's top car rental companies, setting new and innovative service standards in an increasingly competitive and dynamic market.

Currently operating 13 branches across the Emirates, the company is planning major expansion, while a commitment to offering a high quality car rental service and value for money remains a top priority.

Hertz UAE, 100 per cent owned by Al-Futtaim Group, one of the UAE's leading local family business organisations, offers a full range of car rental services, including short-term rentals, long-term corporate and personal leasing, chauffeur drive, bus and limousine services, and international car rental reservations.

Operating in a market in which all major international car rental operators are represented, the company experienced sound growth in 2003. Total revenue was up more than 60 per cent for the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2002, while the market overall grew by around 15 per cent.
