The department is being backed by six co-participants, including the Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department (DNRD), for the 28th official trade fair of the Swiss travel industry.

The trade fair is taking place at Montreux Congress Centre. Last year's show attracted over 1,110 exhibitors and 6,475 specialist visitors from more than 100 countries. TTW-2002 took place on a gross exhibition space of 16,130 square metres.

Mr. Khalifa Ali Buamaim, DTCM Manager Overseas Promotions, said: "The department accords high importance to Swiss market and its keenness and growing interest in this key market is best reflected in Dubai's participation in the TTW for the seventh successive year."

He added: "Swiss tourists are quite aware of the state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure available in Dubai. We will be able to attract more business from Switzerland in the future due to our aggressive marketing and promotional campaign."

The department has an office in Zurich that covers both Switzerland and Austria. This office, in coordination with the DTCM head office, has been actively promoting Dubai in the Swiss market. There has been a significant year-on-year increase in Swiss tourists coming to Dubai.

Omar Al Qurashi, Executive Overseas Promotions, is representing the department at the TTW-2003. The co-participants are Alpha Tours, Passage to Arabia, Khasab Tours, DNRD, Euro Travel and Tourism, and Leeds International Properties.

He said: "The TTW is an important event for national and international tourism in Switzerland. It offers us and all the co-participants the opportunity to present the destination in the best possible ways to travel industry decision-makers and also to woo more Swiss tourists to come to Dubai. Swiss tourists are fascinated with Dubai as they can enjoy the sunshine round-the-year and explore the best of Arabian traditions and culture amidst modernity."
