H.E. Ahmed Al Tayer launches Empost's Athar Shipment Track & Trace Service
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, October 29 - 2003 at 12:11
- PRESS RELEASE
Empost's new Track & Trace Service, Athar, was officially launched at Empost Headquarters in Dubai by His Excellency Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, the UAE Minister of Transportation and Communications and the Chairman of Emirates Post.
"I am very pleased by the professionalism that Empost exudes. Each and every member of the staff is eager and the morale is high - always a good sign in a well-managed organisation. If the people are happy, the organisation will prosper," said the Minister.
He said from a very small beginning, Empost today has become the largest domestic courier service in terms of volume. "It is a matter of pride that a 100 per cent national institution competes effectively and efficiently with the best of the world," Mr. Al Tayer said.
At the inauguration of the Athar Document Tracking and Trace, Empost Chairman and Emirates Post General Manager HE Abdullah Ibrahim Al Daboos said, "It seems that innovation does not stop at Empost. The company continues to improve its service and expand it to make it more and more convenient to customers. I am sure that the new service, like all others developed by Empost, will be welcomed by the customers."
Service Enhancement
Empost General Manager, Mr. Essa Al Daboos, said the Athar service cost some AED 500,000 to design, develop and implement.
The new Athar initiative allows customers the ability to track and trace their shipments via Empost's website from the minute they are collected, until delivery is completed.
"Any Empost customer can get all shipment-related information via the company's website www.empostuae.com by entering the airway bill number. The site is regularly updated with new entries," said the general manager.
Call Centre
The new Athar service also integrates two other systems - the Call Centre, which allows customers to get information about their shipments by calling toll free at 800 5858; and Docuware, which is a document management system that allows full Web-based data delivery.
The new solution was designed and implemented by NET Solutions.
Athar covers all Empost services such as Jawaz, Ameel, Health Pack, EziPack and EziBox.
