Record 40 million Air Miles issued at Lamcy Plaza since commencement of joint promotion in January 2003

Lamcy Plaza, the preferred shopping destination in the UAE, recently announced record figures that highlight the success of the mall's unique joint promotion with AIR MILES, one of the world's most popular loyalty programmes.
Further in a joint statement Lamcy Plaza and AIR MILES also announced that a record number of over 40 million Air Miles have been issued to Lamcy shoppers since the year long promotion came into effect on January 15, 2003 to coincide with the Dubai Shopping Festival.
Under the promotion every Dirham spent at any of the retail outlets at Lamcy Plaza, shoppers will earn one Air Mile, giving shoppers a chance to collect thousands of Air Miles, to be redeemed for fabulous rewards. These include free travel and accommodation at a variety of destinations, electronic items, gold and jewellery, toys and gift vouchers. A special Air Miles booth is available on the ground floor of the mall to facilitate easy transactions and provide free on the spot sign-up to the programme for non-members.
The enthusiasm for collecting Air Miles at Lamcy Plaza has also led to a marked increase in repeat customers. Approximately 57% of AIR MILES members who shopped at the mall between January and May of this year actually returned to Lamcy Plaza during the summer months, thereby highlighting the attractiveness of a loyalty program like AIR MILES.
Commenting on the success of the promotion, Tim Jones, general manager, Lamcy Plaza said, "Our customers are our most valued asset at Lamcy Plaza and the enhanced customer loyalty that we have tracked since the start of the Air Miles promotion is truly gratifying. These figures are a testimony to our continued efforts at the mall to provide our customers with the most enhanced and original services."
Lamcy Plaza evaluated a number of customer loyalty programmes before deciding on AIR MILES. "Today's consumer is spoilt for choice and is always trying to get something in return for his everyday shopping. When we decided to offer further incentives to enhance customer loyalty, AIR MILES seemed to be the clear choice because it offered customers a wide range of rewards in a straight forward manner, with absolutely no strings attached. Judging by the phenomenal success of the promotion these last 10 months, we were right on target," he added.
Mr. Jones further added that the mall was in active negotiations with the management of Rewards Management Middle East, the exclusive franchisee of AIR MILES in the Middle East with a view to making the Air Miles promotion a regular, year-long activity at Lamcy Plaza.
"AIR MILES is delighted to continue and strengthen its relationship with Lamcy Plaza and access its considerable customer base so they can avail the benefits of one of the world's most successful loyalty programmes," said Dave Battiston, General Manager, Rewards Management Middle East. He added that the ongoing promotion was certain to attract even more customers in the winter season as activity in the Mall intensifies.
"We are looking at doubling the figures in no time at all,' he said.
