DTCM official calls UAE trade exhibition in India a valuable experience

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing's (DTCM) Manager, Visitors Information Bureau, Salah Al Ansari has called the participation of Dubai at the first-ever UAE trade exhibition in India, Mumbai 'a valuable experience'.

The event, which concluded recently at Mumbai witnessed the visit of various Indian dignitaries at the Dubai stand. They included Deputy Chief Minister, of Indian State of Maharashtra, Mr. Chagan Bhujbal who had all praise for the emirate as well as the UAE's trade and business facilities and developments.

The Dubai team comprised of 35 co-participants including Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Jebel Ali Free Zone. "The three-day event ended on a successful note in which we met leading industrialists and decision makers from the India's business sector. Showcasing Dubai's top of the line facilities and services in such exhibitions enabled us to target qualified buyers and maximize contact with existing clients and potential customers," said Mr. Al Ansari.

Calling India, a high flying market in the field of trade, Mr. Al Ansari said: "Dubai regards India as an important market and has established a representative office in Mumbai. We participate in numerous roadshows, exhibitions and workshops in key cities of India significant from the point of views of travel trade. India is earning name as a rapidly expanding market and is gaining popularity for the outbound travel business. It plays a dominant role in today's world tourism and trade sector".

The success of the event will see the UAE participation in this exhibition annually. "DTCM is a prominent player in the Indian market and we intend increasing our operations in it. Our participation in this exhibition also affirms that we would like to enhance our share in the Indian market," said Mr. Al Ansari

He noted that Dubai has strong trade relations with India, which is multiplying every year. "In the year 2002 trade with India registered an increase of 18.7 per cent as compared to the year 2001," added Mr. Al Ansari.
