Global Village is managed by (DSF) and Dubai Festival City, this year there will be 38 countries participating in the event. The Village will open its doors from the 15th January to the 15th February 2004.

Global Village provides a unique opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of cultures and traditions from all over the world. It offers a melting pot of nationalities and cultures, inviting visitors to enjoy a rich feast of heritage, society and products from many diverse countries.

Hassan Al Sherif, Assistant Director Global Village said, "The Global Village is a very important event for us. It allows us to demonstrate our commitment to many different societies and cultures and to introduce them to a global audience. Last year Global Village was one of our biggest attractions drawing over 3 million visitors. Brazil is an important country with many, cultures, traditions and products to offer. We are delighted that they will be participating in the Village this year."

Mr Qosai Al Shared, Regional Manager for Arab Brazil, who are organising the Brazilian Pavilion said, "Brazil is an enormous country with a very large economy and a population of 170 million. Because we are so far away from the Middle East many people do not appreciate the significant industries and quality products that our country can offer. Our participation in Global Village will enable us to educate people in our cultural values whilst giving them some information about our history and society."

The Brazilian Pavilion will partake in a number of themes and events. The Pavilion aims to publicize the rich resources and quality products that the country can offer, representatives from key industries will be invited to exhibit their products and present on their contribution to the world today. There will also be a theme relating to the Amazon region, focusing in particular on foodstuffs that are produced in this environment, how such industries can co-exist within such a wild habitat without damaging the environment. A stage will offer dazzling performances in traditional dance and music encouraging the public to enjoy Brazil's traditional culture and society.

The Global Village is in its 9th year and has grown rapidly since its birth in 1996. The concept remains to offer an exciting and interesting display of cultures and societies for all to enjoy, whilst making it convenient and easy for people to move between the pavilions. The Global Village is organized by Dubai Shopping Festival and Dubai Festival City.
