Albahhar.ae brings Holy Quran awards closer to community

These will include a live video stream of this year's Dubai International Holy Quran Awards, and access to an online site dedicated to the Holy Quran and related topics.

By offering a video link of the Holy Quran Awards, organized each year by Dubai Government, EIM hopes many more members of the community will be able to become involved in the event. Coverage will run throughout Ramadan and will allow Internet users around the world to gain an insight into the lectures and competitions taking place.

"The Internet is unique in that we can provide live coverage of events whilst also hosting an almost unlimited amount of supporting information, activities and other links to related sites," commented Maroua Naim, General Manager, EIM. "Anyone with an Internet connection will be able to watch lectures, ceremonies and other activities around these awards. The static sites, meanwhile, lets people spend time researching the Quran and studying a host of surrounding issues.

From the first day of Ramadan through to the seventh, the live video link to the Dubai Holy Quran Awards will cover a series of lectures from noted spokespeople, outlining key themes relevant to the month. On the eighth day through to the eighteenth, live coverage of the Holy Quran competition will begin with a full range of activities being covered. The closing ceremony, to take place on the twentieth day, will also be shown in full for visitors to view.

To complement the live activities taking place, the Albahhar site will also contain a link to the 'Ramadan Kareem' site. Here, users are able to access a broad spectrum of useful tips, timings and online services. Information from healthy eating during the month through to a set of useful Ramadan links, discussion forums and an online version of the Quran will be available.

"The range of activities on Albahhar during Ramadan are designed to initiate thought and provide informative resources for users," added Ashraf Gameel, Marketing Manager, Internet Services, EIM. "By offering a number of different services to the community, we hope Albahhar can be used as a central resource for information and discussion during the month."
