House of Talents undergoes facelift

The House of Talents at Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) 2004 is all set to become another successful event and this year will see some distinct changes from previous years.
The House of Talents organized under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister, is an event that invites women of all nationalities from all over the world to display products and skills of their own making.
Najwa Al Rahma,Research and Development Director DSF,said "Since its launch in 1999 House of Talents has become consistently more successful with a growing number of entries. The exhibition gives women an opportunity to showcase their talents to a large audience including general visitors, the public and business sectors. The new design of the exhibition will be to create several smaller houses within one large building. Each house will represent one talent and there will be many rooms in which entries will be displayed. The look and feel for the new exhibition will be modern and bright with plenty of space to incorporate the growing numbers of entries anticipated in 2004."
There will be a variety of categories, which participants can choose to enter and these are designed to incorporate a broad section of skills and crafts. These will include Interior Design, Architecture, Fine Arts, Unusual Hobbies, Photography, Handicrafts, Music, Creative Writing and Poetry, Theatre and others. To register an entry for the exhibition costs 200Dhs per person and location rental fees of between 1000Dhs-5000Dhs. The exhibition aims to offer a launch pad for new and aspiring individuals with creative flair and talent. All the pieces entered are of a high standard and it is imperative that all entries are made or created by the participant herself and have not been publicly exhibited before.
