BP appoints more Nationals

BP Middle East has recently appointed four new UAE Nationals to its office in Dubai.

Aref Saeed Mohammed has joined Air BP as aviation sales manager, while Mohammed Khamis Al Arimi has been made lubricants executive. Amal Al Bastaki, who is fluent in Arabic, English, Farsi and Urdu, has been appointed administration assistant and Amina Al Qattan as receptionist.

In his role as sales manager for Air BP, Aref Mohammed will be based in Dubai and responsible for sales of aviation fuels and lubricants in the Middle East and Indian subcontinent, as well as relationships with civil aviation authorities across the region.

Aref previously worked for Emirates National Oil Company where he gained experience in both aviation and lubricants sales. After graduating with a BSc from Metro State College USA he gained a Diploma in Law and went on to work for Dubai Police PR Department, rising to the rank of First Lieutenant.

Mohammed Al Arimi graduated from Etisalat Training Institute and the Emirates Bank International Institute and has gained valuable work experience from previous assignments with the Al-Gurg Group and Etisalat.

"BP has a global policy of diversity and inclusion which includes employing nationals wherever it operates. We are keen to employ more Emiratis who possess the personal and behavioural skills BP needs and these appointees are eminently qualified in this respect," said Samar Badri, assistant Human Resources Manager and herself a National.

Aref Mohammed observed: "BP is a very progressive company and I am learning a lot, not only to do with my job but also about communicating and management style. The company is a firm believer is responsibility and accountability, while at the same time encouraging teamwork and learning through experience, which I find very rewarding," said Aref.
