'Best of Discovery' week features Jordan, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates

A Royal tour of Jordan with King Abdullah II and a journey through the Valley of the Kings in Egypt feature in a week of the 'Best of Discovery Channel' on Showtime during Ramadan.
The week of programming which starts on Monday 10th November also includes an investigation in to the salvagaing of The Kursk, the Russian nuclear submarine that mysteriously sank three years ago, and a special two-part series - 'Before We Ruled The Earth' which portrays how early man's ability to adapt allowed humans to travel and conquer the world.
'The Royal Tour of Jordan' follows King Abdullah II as he takes viewers on an exclusive tour of his realm and talks passionately about his country and people.
The tour takes in all of the country's most beautiful and historic sights, including the ancient city of Petra, the arid Wadi Rum desert, the stunning Ragadan Palace in the capital, Amman, the cosmopolitan Red Sea resort of Aqaba, and the revitalising health resorts of The Dead Sea.
'Hospital for the King of the Skies' takes a compelling look at the Royal Falcon Hospital in Dubai under the care of Dr. David Remple.
The documentary deals with the important role that falcons play in the Arab world, how the diseases of modern civilization are affecting the falcons, the breeding of falcons, and the importance of the training of these royal birds.
'Journey Through the Valley of the Kings' uncovers the secrets of the great journey of the pharaohs' funeral processions would take from Thebes to the Valley of the Kings, while 'Pyramids, Mummies and Tombs' investigates the global phenomenon of pyramids that pop up in the most unlikely places, including the island of Java, the Peruvian Desert, China and Iraq.
The secrets of what it takes to provide guests with an unrivalled level of service at 'The World's Most Luxurious Hotel' are revealed in a unique 'behind the scenes' documentary on Burj Al Arab, Dubai.
The Discovery Channel is available exclusively on the Showtime television network in the Middle East. The special "Best of Discovery" week starts on November 10th.
