  • PRESS RELEASE

NYK Logistics, the freight forwarding and distribution division of Nippon Yusen Kaisha of Japan, has signed its first major contract since its inception in March 2003 with audio and video giant Pioneer Gulf FZE.

NYK Logistics will provide PGF with a ready-made logistics infrastructure, meeting the company's unique supply chain needs that often require timely supply of goods in large surges of volume and demand.

The scope of work will include regional stockholding, re-distribution to the expanding Middle East markets as well as value added services such as bar coding, re-packaging etc. including promotional activities.

"Customer understanding and servicing are the centre of NYK Logistics' business strategy," says Mr. Taizo Akabane, Chairman, NYK Logistics (Middle East) LLC, " We always go the extra mile to understand our customers' supply chain needs, deliver on our promises and ensure complete customer satisfaction."

The signing of the contract falls perfectly in line with NYKL's core strategy of providing a comprehensive range of logistics services catering to the unique supply chain needs of multinational Japanese companies in the consumer electronics and automotive spare parts industries in the UAE.

"The signing of a major contract like PGF is proof of NYKL's increasing significance in the regional logistics industry, " concludes Mr. Yoshiyuki Konuma, Director of NLME. "We are confident that we will meet and exceed the high expectations set for us and we look forward to a prosperous relationship with our new clients."
