H.H.Sheikh Ahmed receives Thales Group senior V.P.

As part of his visit to Dubai yesterday, Bernard Rocquemont, senior vice president and deputy chief operating officer of Aerospace and IT Services, Thales Group, visited HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority.

He was accompanied by Dr. Mohammed Al Zarouni, Director General, Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA).

France headquartered Thales Group is a world leader in professional electronics in three key markets: Aerospace, Defence and Information Technology & Services (IT&S). The Group employs 65,000 people in nearly 50 countries worldwide and generated revenues of over €11 billion in 2002. The company has been focussing on its Middle East operations through its branch office located in the Dubai Airport Free Zone since 1999.Thales Avionics and Thales Training & Simulation are already suppliers of entertainment and IT systems to some of the major regional airlines.

The discussions with Sheikh Ahmed revolved around the growing aviation trend in the region and a proposal by Thales to significantly invest in a regional support centre in Dubai to mark its confidence in the development of Dubai.
