The solar powered trailer mounted arrow sign is the latest product from Traffic Tech (Gulf) Co. With offices in Jordan and Qatar and ambitious plans for new offices throughout the Gulf region, it claims to be the only company in the Middle East specialising in all fields related to traffic engineering.

'We think the Solar Tech solar powered arrow board and message boards is a very important addition to the Middle East traffic safety market which we will be exhibiting at Gulf Traffic,' said Traffic Tech (Gulf) Co's Group General Manager Husam Musharbash.

'We will be at Gulf Traffic because it has become the most important forum in the Middle East for presenting new technologies related to the traffic management field,' Musharbash added.

Traffic Tech will also be launching its SCATS fully adaptive Urban Traffic Management System and the system will be available for demonstration on the company's stand.

The SCATS system has already been installed in the Qatari capital Doha where the company's Integrated Parking Management System is also in operation at Doha International Airport.

Traffic Tech has also recently installed a red light camera system in the Jordanian capital Amman.

'The demand for advanced traffic management system is already on the increase but held up by the lack of knowledge of the available technologies. Specialised suppliers have an important role in proposing appropriate technologies to solve current and future traffic problems,' Musharbash added.

Government agencies in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Syria, Yemen, Sudan and Iran are endorsing Gulf Traffic which is sponsored by the Dubai Municipality.

The showcase event, which includes the three-day Gulf Traffic congress as well as the exhibition, will be held from December 8-11 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. The exhibition, organised by IIR Exhibitions and Conferences, has more than 150 companies from 30ountries contracted. For the first time the exhibitor line-up includes organizations from Iran, Jordan, Taiwan, Spain and Australia.

Gulf Traffic has emerged as a technology window to the future of the transportation industry.

'Numerous exhibitors are planning to use the event as a regional launch pad for new technology,' said Davyd Farrell, Director, Gulf Traffic. 'Industry visitors will have the chance to assess equipment and systems which could change the face of urban and transport planning and operations.'

A specialized event has also been added to the Gulf Traffic programme - the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Rail Congress. Entry to the Gulf Traffic exhibition is free to all traffic and transport industry professionals.
