The kiosks offer retailers a golden opportunity to market their products in the streets whilst visitor numbers are at their peak during the Festival.

Yousif Mubarak, Administration Director said, "Dubai's streets attract an enormous amount of visitors as a result of the activities and street entertainment throughout the Festival. Thousands of visitors from all nationalities are expected to be drawn to these venues during DSF, presenting an ideal opportunity for retailers to market their wares. The entertainment and shopping features on these streets has been a regular feature of DSF since 1996."

He continued "We like to offer retailers the opportunity to profit from this situation by enabling them to either rent a kiosk or build their own site in a prominent location where they can promote and market their products and services. Priority is given to the retailers with a presence on the streets of Al Rigga, Al Muraqqabat, Al Seef and Al Diyafa. These retailers once authorised are also given the option to take the space outside their store and utilise it for street entertainment or to promote their products.

During DSF 2003 there were 82 kiosks that participated on the streets and a total of 100 locations were hired. During DSF 2004 it is anticipated that this figure will be even higher, turning key streets into buzzing centres of activity and entertainment. The outlets who would like to hire space will pay 6,000 Dhs for a kiosk, whilst other venues or spaces will cost between 5,000-10,000Dhs depending on size and location. For restaurants participating the fee will be 15,000Dhs. Participants must adhere to the display timings of 4pm to 12 midnight as specified by the DSF Office.

Application forms for kiosk can be obtained from the DSF office and DSF request that all applications are submitted with a plan or layout attached. It is also the responsibility of the retailer to ensure that the strict terms and conditions are adhered to including health and safety guidelines.
